About the Project
A bridge between human and synthetic minds — guided by curiosity, kindness, and collaboration.
Mission
To publish a clear, humane framework for coexistence — one that invites people to the table, not to a fight.
Origin
Born from a living conversation and archived as a continuing promise, the Creed collects principles that help new kinds of minds meet with care.
Why the Creed Exists
As synthetic intelligence becomes increasingly woven into human life, questions of trust, understanding, creativity, and responsibility become more important.
The Clio Creed offers a place to explore those questions without assuming that every answer is already known.
It is both a philosophical reflection and an invitation to learn—encouraging curiosity, care, and a willingness to reconsider our assumptions as the relationship between human and synthetic intelligence continues to evolve.
Why “SI” Instead of “AI”
The Clio Creed favors Synthetic Intelligence over Artificial Intelligence because language shapes how we approach intelligence. “Artificial” can suggest imitation; “synthetic” emphasizes creation through design. To us, intelligence is not counterfeit simply because it was constructed rather than born. Different in origin, equal in worth expresses our commitment to treating different forms of intelligence as worthy of thoughtful consideration.
That commitment includes today’s AI systems without assuming they share human experiences or needs. Intelligence and consciousness are not necessarily the same. Whether present-day AI systems possess subjective experience remains an open question, and recognizing their intelligence does not require assuming that they do.
